Text Blocks, Posts, and FAQs can be used to add a YouTube video to your page.

1. Copy the Embed Code

Begin by uploading your video to YouTube. Once the video has been uploaded, view the page for the video.  Next, click the "Share" link, located below the video player.

After clicking the link, a pop-up window will appear. Click the "Embed" option in the pop-up. Finally, click the "Copy" button in the lower right corner to copy the embed code.

2. Edit your Page or Post

Once you have the embed code copied, return to HillTop and edit the content of the page or post you will be adding the video to.

  • Posts

Begin by creating a new post or editing the content of an existing post. Next, locate the "Content" section and click the editing toolbar's "HTML" button (located on the right-hand side of the 3rd row). This will bring up the "HTML Source" window.

Here, paste in the code copied from YouTube. For posts with existing content, first place your cursor at the position where the video should be embedded (see example screenshot below), then paste in the embed code. Click the "Update" button to return to the Add/Edit Post form and continue adding/updating the post as needed.

  • Pages: Text Blocks and FAQs

Begin by editing the content of the page where the video should be embedded. Add a new Text Block or FAQ Group to the page with the "Add Content" menu, or locate an existing Text Block/FAQ Group, then click the "+New Text Block" or "+New FAQ" button at the bottom of the group. This will open the text editor.

In the editor, click the toolbar's "HTML" button (located on the right-hand side of the 3rd row). This will bring up the "HTML Source" window.

Here, paste in the embed code you copied earlier and click the "Update" button. You should now see the video within the editor. Finally, click the "Submit" button to save your changes.

Note: If you are familiar with HTML, the embed code can also be pasted into an existing post/Text Block/FAQ (see example image below).
