GSL Solutions is pleased to announce the availability of a new version of the software that delivers The Digital Bell, HillTop, and Frontrunner services. This release of the software is considered to be an incremental release and contains minor feature improvements and a number of bug fixes.

What You'll Notice As Being Different

  • Display Added Photos In Their Original Size - in previous versions of the product, when photos that were smaller than the display area were uploaded, the image would be enlarged to fill the display box. Now the image size will only be increased until one side of the image comes into contact with the display box and then the enlargement will stop.
  • Change "Images" To "Photo Gallery" In The Add Content Section - to resolve feature ambiguity, the "Images" page element has been renamed to "Photo Gallery" to better represent the true functionality of the feature.
  • Show "Redirect" icon in Page list view and Edit screen when a page is being redirected - when the pages with a web site are listed, a green dot will be placed next to those pages that are redirects.
  • Update The School Athletic Calendar Feature To Support The Ability To Print Out A Full Season - each sport has it's own season and now the school athletic calendar understands that a season exists and permits the full season of the events related to sport to be printed out. [Digital Bell]
  • Create Attractive Formatting For The Printing Of School Athletic Calendar Information - when the school athletic calendar feature had been updated and incorporated into the main product, this feature had gone away. It has now once again been added. [Digital Bell]
  • Make Time Of Event An Optional Parameter When Creating Sporting Events - in previous versions of the school athletic calendar feature, a start time was a require field for all athletic events. In order to permit events to be scheduled way into the future when start times may not be known, this requirement has been removed. [Digital Bell]
  • Update The School Athletic Calendar Feature To Support Filtering Of Events - a single school athletic calendar can be used to display multiple school sports (e.g. football, baseball, etc.). Now the total contents of the school athletic calendar can be filtered to only display the sport that the user is interested in. [Digital Bell]
  • Print full year calendar - a full year of sports events can now be printed [Digital Bell]

What You'll Notice As Being Different

  • School Lunch Planning -- This feature allows school district food managers to create a generic breakfast or lunch menu for a user specified number of days. Once created, the food schedule can then be applied to a calendar starting at any date. Options are included to permit holidays and school closing days to either be skipped or to have the food program delayed until school is once again back in session. The school district food manager can build a database of food items to be offered and has full control over the nutritional information associated with each food item. [Digital Bell]
  • High School Student Course Registration -- New functionality has been added that allows high school students to register for next year's courses by logging into the Digital Bell. The student's current teachers can make course recommendations for their existing students which the students will then see when they are making their course selections for the next year. [Digital Bell]
  • User Profiles -- Each user of the system now has a user profile. This profile contains basic contact information for the user including phone, email, and a photo. A role is associated with each profile and this controls what the user can do. User profile information is displayed as a part of each user's dashboard.

GSL Solutions is pleased to announce the availability of a new version of HillTop. This release of the software is considered to be an incremental release and contains minor feature improvements and a number of bug fixes.

Some of the Changes You'll Notice As Being Different

  • The User Dashboard has been extensively changed. All of the "plumbing and wiring" have been changed. You'll see some changes now and we're set up for easily making future changes. In this release, you'll see a change to the formatting of the user dashboard (we've changed corners from being rounded to now being squared). Also, we've reduced the number of individual modules that users can add to their user dashboard -- we've removed the modules that nobody was using. We've included the ability to to add modules for each individual Post Type in order to provide users with quicker access to the posts that they actually use. Finally, we've added a quick search feature so that you can find what you are looking for easier.
  • The login screen for HillTop has been updated. Now an image is displayed as a background and the user is presented with username / password login fields in the middle of the screen. Although the functionality has not been changed, the overall look is much more professional.
  • Selecting files to attach to a Post has been improved. In the past, when you had already added a file to your account's Warehouse and you wanted to attach one of these files to a Post, you had to go wading through everything that was in the Warehouse in order to find the file that you wanted. This is no longer the case with a quick search function and improved list view.
  • With the changes in this release, you are now presented with a much larger window which shows you all of the files that you have in your Warehouse. Now you can limit what files you see by file type (photos, videos, docs), the documents are listed in a "last added at the top" format with the thinking that you'll be most often working with the most recent files. If you know the name of the file that you are looking for, you can also use the new search feature to look for it.

GSL Solutions is pleased to announce the availability of a new version of the software that delivers HillTop services. This release of the software is considered to be an incremental release and contains minor feature improvements and a number of bug fixes.

What You'll Notice As Being Different

  • We've significantly enhanced what can be done with posts. Now these informational items can be treated in similar fashion to website pages. This means that photo galleries and images can be added to posts. Previously images could only be added by inserting them into the text of the post, now images can be added as modules along with the post text module.
  • Support for a fully functional athletics calendar has been added to each school's web site. This impressive functionality allows all of the sporting events that the school will be participating in to be placed on a single calendar. Once that has been done, the calendar display can be filtered to just show the schedule for specific sport that you are interested in by sport, gender, skill level, etc.
  • A framework has been put into place that will allow the CMS side of the HilllTop service to now automatically adjust to match the size of the display that the user is currently using. This functionality has always been available to users of many of the websites that HillTop manages,  but it is now available to you when you are making updates to the website.

GSL Solutions is pleased to announce the availability of a new version of HillTop. This release of the software is considered to be an incremental release and contains minor feature improvements and a number of bug fixes. Offices using the "Gold" version of HillTop are updated automatically.

What You'll Notice As Being Different:

  • An improved UI that hides some of the unnecessary “clutter” that doesn't get used frequently when adding content.
  • A new image picker that makes the process of selecting an existing image or uploading a new image much easier. You can even do batch uploads while editing a page.
  • We simplified the process of entering text blocks. We used to present you with a bunch of options that you really didn't need to fill out, the options are still there but we've hidden them so that you won't get confused.
  • The product now supports multi-step web-forms. Previously, a website visitor would have to enter information on one long form. Now, you can break those fileds up into multiple steps or pages for one form. The user will enter the requested data on the first form and then hit "next" and the the next form form page will be displayed. We've discovered that users are much more likely to complete long forms when they are presented this way.
  • When you mark a page or a form to be "inactive," it will no longer be displayed when you view "list all." This makes it much easier to manage and work with just the pages and forms that are actually being displayed on your website. The inactive pages and forms can still be accessed when you do an "advanced search" and ask the system to display all of the inactive items in a list.
